At the City of Launceston council's meeting last week, a development application to open the coffee business was approved.
The coffee stop will be opened at the Chugg and Co Cars site on Wellington Street.
It is expected to take about three minutes to get the coffee, with the business model working to capture existing traffic, and no significant disruption expected for Wellington Street.
IN OTHER NEWS:
The drive-thru will have space for six vehicles, along with two onsite parking spaces for staff.
The coffee drive-thru will run from Wilmot Street's existing entry through to Wellington Street for the exit.
It will operate in a manner similar to those already being run from shipping containers in Goderich Street at Invermay and West Tamar Road at Riverside, however in this case, it will be concealed behind roller doors.
The store will be open from 6.30am until 2pm seven days a week.
Two staff will be employed at the site. No sit-down offerings are planned.
No works are planned for the existing office space.
