For crotchet craftswomen Melissa Triffitt, of Deer Dot. Handmade, it's her fourth time presenting her wares at Niche Market.

"I do baskets, baby rompers and bonnets as well as reusable crotchet market bags," she said.

"It's all made from either pure or recycled cotton ... the baskets are basically made from leftovers from the textile industry."

Triffitt has been making crocheted goods for two years and said she enjoyed the supportive atmosphere of Niche.

Watercolour painter Christina Graham has been artistic her whole life, working a lot with natural subjects like birds and plants.

"I like to focus on Australian natives and local birds as well," she said.

"I've also done a bit of a calendar set for next year as well that's all about planting - what to plant each month and what to eat each month."

"It's about sustainability because if you know what to plant, you can grow your own fruit and veg ... it really helps you reduce your waste, buy local and support other people."

About 65 stallholders from around Tasmania will showcase their products at the market, which raises money for children's disability group St Giles.
