When The Examiner launched its 111th Empty Stocking Appeal, we said it was going to be a community effort, and, the community is helping.
Launceston Scale Model Club held an expo last month, and have donated $1000 to the appeal as a result.
Club president Tim Cocker said the club, which is a not-for-profit, was in a good position from the expo.
"It's a worthy cause. It's donated to four worthy charities. We're always out to help charities where we can," he said.
"We just thought we might donate to a worthy cause again."
IN OTHER NEWS:
Mr Cocker said he encourages any club or organisation to donate if they can.
Every dollar raised will go towards four charities, Launceston City Mission, The Salvation Army, The Benevolent Society and St Vincent De Paul.
About $16,000 has been raised.

Donations can be made in person, either at Fairfax Media offices, such as The Examiner office on Cimitiere Street, or at any business that contains an appeal tin.
