Ms Rattray said she intends to bring forward a notice of motion to discuss the petition next year, as there are only three sitting days left at Parliament for 2019.
Thirty-five Pioneer residents signed the petition, which is calling for an inquiry into lead contamination. The North-East town has a population of 89, including children.
In 2012, it was discovered the water at Pioneer and other North-East towns was contaminated with lead. Blood testing to determine lead levels of affected residents was not undertaken by the Department of Health.
TasWater issued rainwater tanks to Pioneer residents, and supplied treated water to the other towns.
This year, it was discovered the tank water also contained lead at some houses, due to lead leaching from roofs, downpipes, and guttering.
The petition calls for an inquiry into these events.
