Riverside top seed Matthew Webb pulled out all stops to beat Trevallyn's Andrew Corbett 6-4 and Campbell Young put Blue two matches ahead with a 6-2 singles win against Glenn Clifford.
But Trevallyn's David Beattie won a tiebreak against Riverside junior talent Arwen Koesmapahlawan to keep the hill folk in the hunt.
Trevallyn won two doubles matches before Webb and Young combined for a 6-2 win against Clifford and Corbett to give Riverside the rubber, 29-26.
ELSEWHERE IN SPORT
Craig Boyce and Andrew Faulkner notched singles wins to give Legana a great start against Riverside White but vanquished opponents Ryan Walker and Adrian Wilson turned the tables in the doubles with a 6-4 win.
Riverside White won the other doubles and top seed Oliver Hadley was too strong for Legana's Sam O'Shea in the singles, giving White the rubber 4-2.
