Severe Fire Danger is still forecast and occurring in South East, Upper Derwent Valley and North East districts.
By midday, the highest temperature in Tasmania recorded was 38.3 °C at Campania, with 37.7 °C at Hobart Airport and Dunalley.
A Severe Weather Warning for Damaging Winds is in place for northwesterly winds of 60-70 km/h in central and eastern areas with peak gusts of 100 km/h.
A southerly change has reached parts of the south east, including Hobart city and the Tasman Peninsula.
A cool change is not expected to reach the North-East until late evening.
Thunderstorms are possible mainly in the afternoon, around 2-5 mm of rainfall is possible with thunderstorms.
