West Tamar Arts Group's Hilary Keeley said it was coup for Exeter.
"They were coming down to teach in Brisbane, and you know how the Tasmanian system is, through a friend of a friend, they're coming to do this as well," she said.
Roberto and Rodolfo Guarnieri (pictured with apprentice Tyler Hanzel) co-founded the Art Gallery Studio Iguarnieri on the banks of the Arno River.
Inspired by the ideal of the Florentine workshops of the Renaissance, the brothers create contemporary fresco painting using traditional techniques with modern materials.
The workshop is on Friday from 10am to 1pm, $10, materials supplied.
