Acclaimed Canadian author Margaret Atwood is touring Australia and New Zealand in February and March next year with the event In Conversation with Margaret Atwood.
The tour is a celebration of Atwood's most recent work, The Testaments, the highly anticipated sequel to her seminal work, The Handmaid's Tale.
Atwood will also discuss her lengthy career, her wide range of works, and why she made the decision to return to the world of Gilead after 34 years. A Q&A will also take place with the Booker Prize winner.
"I am so happy to be returning to Australia, where I have spent much time in the past, and where readers have always been so warm and welcoming," Atwood said.
The tour is being brought to the country by Fane, in collaboration with Andrew Kay, Phil Bathols, and BBC Studios Australia.
Fane managing director Alex Fane said they were thrilled to announced the continuation of their partnership with Atwood.
"After a sell-out run of dates across Europe, the US and Canada, this is the perfect opportunity for fans in Australia to spend an evening with the Booker Prize Winner," he said.
She is the author of more than 50 novels, which include Cat's Eye, Alias Grace, The Robber Bride, The Blind Assassin, and the MaddAddam Trilogy.
Ticker presale will begin at noon on Monday, November 25. Sales to the general public will begin at noon on Friday, November 29.
As part of a special initiative, 25 free tickets for each performance will be given to people under 25-years-old. These tickets will be released on the day of each show.
In Conversation with Margaret Atwood will take place at Hobart's Wrest Point on Monday, February 24 from 7.30pm until 9pm.
