The Giants were sensationally bundled out of finals in the final seconds of this year's home and away season when the Magpies' 58-47 win over Melbourne Vixens secured the three bonus points and percentage boost needed to swoop on fourth.

The two sides will face off in round four of next season - a 1pm clash on Sunday, May 24 at Silverdome - with Collingwood also visiting the South of the state in pre-season.

The Magpies will meet Sunshine Coast Lightning in a practice match on February 28 at the Derwent Entertainment Centre before attempting to continue their unbeaten record in Launceston.

"It's great being able to return to Tassie for another season, it's our home away from home," Collingwood head coach Rob Wright said.

"We have a great support base in Tassie and love every opportunity we get to play in front of them."

The Magpies hosted eventual premier New South Wales Swifts in front of a sellout crowd at the Silverdome last season following wins in Launceston over the Queensland Firebirds in 2017 and 2018.

Tickets for the 2020 season will go on sale in early March.
