In its second year, the festival showcases a plethora of Thai food as well as traditional performances.
Event committee member Pearl Chinthammit said the event coincides with Thailand's national Floating Lantern Festival, or Loi Krathong.
"We have quite a big Thai community in Launceston so we thought we'd create a festival to get together and for the public to join in," Ms Chinthammit said.
"A lot of people in Launceston have travelled to Thailand and enjoy Thai cuisine."

She added that the festival serves as a good chance for newly migrated Thais to familiarise themselves with the local Thai community.
"It also introduces our heritage culture to our children, embracing their Thai heritage through food, language, music, art and fun activities," Ms Chinthammit said.
The $35 ticket includes access to a buffet of Thai delights and cooking demonstrations.
Ms Chinthammit said particularly fascinating dishes people will enjoy include a rice noodle curry and papaya salad.
"We also have sticky mango rice which is just in season which is nice - that's very popular," she said.
