A man has been arrested after a planned police raid on a Launceston bar. A large number of officers from the Northern drug investigation services, the criminal investigation bureau and uniform surrounded the Greenwood Bar on the corner of Cimitiere and George streets about midday on Wednesday. One man has been taken into police custody as a result of the planned operation, with a large number of officers remaining inside an area attached to the bar. Police can be seen inside the venue from a window on George Street. A number of uniformed officers also remain on guard outside the premises, with several unmarked and marked police cars parked around the perimeter. The investigation was ongoing at 1pm on Wednesday.
