A 27-year-old Mowbray man is facing a string of charges after allegedly ramming a police car at Invermay on Sunday.

The man is expected to appear in the Launceston Magistrates Court on Monday after being charged with stealing, attempted motor vehicle stealing, drive while disqualified, dishonestly alter or display a plate in a way calculated to deceive, drive without due care and attention, evading police (aggravated circumstances), motor vehicle stealing, resist a police officer, possess a controlled drug, possess controlled plant or its products, unlawfully possess dangerous article in a public place and unlawful possession of property.
The man was arrested after allegedly evading police in a green Mitsubish triton on Forster Street just before 3pm.
The police officer inside the car was not injured.
