Originally scheduled for December 15, the date change is to avoid a clash with the Presidents Cup in Melbourne.
Played over 36 holes, "The Northern" is an official Golf Tasmania Toogood and Goggin consistency trophy event.
It usually attracts Tasmania's finest men and women golfers and this year's event should be no exception.
Reigning Launceston club champion Greg Longmore and state captain Mitch Van Noord will be fancied to perform well on their home course.
Alex Hansen has had a stellar season so far and will be looking to complete the year in style as women's champion.
The Tamar Valley A grade championship will be a fitting prelude to the Northern amateur and is to be played over 45 holes at the Greens Beach Golf Club on December 7 and 8.
This is also a Toogood ranking event and a 45-hole junior event will be held concurrently.
Entry forms are available for these and other current events @ www.northerngolf.com.au/fixtures.html and also at Northern clubs.
