Two people suffering mild hypothermia will be rescued from the Overland Track on Sunday morning.

About 3pm on Saturday, two EPIRBs were activated at Lake St Clair at Cradle Mountain.
Police land search and rescue teams were deployed in the area, with a Parks and Wildlife Service ranger also attending.
The group was located by the parks ranger about 6.30pm, sheltering from the weather in a tent.

They were found with mild hypothermia due to the hazardous weather conditions, Tasmania Police said.
The group was escorted to the Windermere Hut for the night and will be extracted on Sunday morning by police.
Tasmania Police reminded those planning to walk Overland Track to be aware of current changes to the conditions. The start of the track at Waterfall Valley Hut is temporarily closed.
Police said be adequately prepared for the continuously changing conditions, and consider the weather warnings before starting the walk.
