Ms Corstorphine was a lawyer who moved to Tasmania three years ago from Queensland.
Having been a participant in her Queensland Labor branch, Ms Corstorphine continued her involvement with the party in Launceston.
Friend and Labor spokesperson Michelle O'Byrne said everyone who knew her both in and out of the party was devastated by the loss.
"She was probably one of the most gregarious, engaging and lively people I've ever met," Ms O'byrne said.
"Everything she did with us she embraced fully and threw herself into it."

For Ms Corstorphine, 71 was just a number, maintaining a spirited demeanour in all her pursuits.
"'Elderly woman' does not sum up what Veronica was, she walked everywhere and was incredibly fast and full of energy," Ms O'Byrne said.
"She'd regularly be admonishing younger party members - if she could climb the hills of Trevallyn all day so could they."
Ms Corstorphine was known to be a well-learned, busy person who spoke French and was studying European political history through Oxford University.
"You'd regularly get a 2am email because she's just looked up from her books and realised that she needed to check up on something or tell you something because she was just studying too much," Ms O'Byrne said.

Ms O'Byrne said it was common to not hear from Ms Corstorphine for days at a time.
"Between her friendships, her political engagements, her involvement in the Labor sisterhood and her studies she was a very busy person," she said.
"I don't think anybody will ever fill that gap... people are devastated and are going to miss her dreadfully."
A 46-year-old woman has been charged in relation to Ms Corstorphine's death.
