The Stan Siejka Launceston Cycling Classic on Sunday, December 8, will start the three-race competition.
A Super Crit in Melbourne on Sunday, December 15, will be round two with the winners decided on Saturday, January 25, 2020, at Night Riders in Adelaide, part of the Tour Down Under.
Individual riders accumulate points during the series to decide overall winners.
The Launceston Classic has built a reputation as one of Australia's best criterium races. It consists of a 1.1-kilometre circuit around City Park, including a 16 per cent gradient hill leading into the notorious peanut roundabout and consistently attracts crowds of around 10,000 each year.
Previous competitors include Robbie McEwen, Stuart O'Grady, Caleb Ewan, Britain's four-time Tour De France champion Chris Froome and Tasmanians Richie Porte and three-time winner Matt Goss.
Cycling Australia's Kipp Kaufmann said the inaugural year of the NCS in 2018 brought the sport closer to fans.
Final frontier
The Tasmanian riders at the track world cup in Glasgow missed out on finals in the team pursuit.
Perth's Georgia Baker and Devonport's Macey Stewart teamed up with Kristina Clonan and Alexandra Martin-Wallace to finish sixth in the women's qualifying in a time of 4:23.638 as Great Britain won gold.
In the men's qualifying, Launceston's Josh Duffy combined with Leigh Howard, Conor Leahy and Godfrey Slattery to clock 3:57.832 and finish seventh as Denmark claimed victory.
Rich pickings
Trek-Segafredo has announced the squad that will support Launceston's Richie Porte in the WorldTour in 2020.
Vincenzo Nibali, Italy's 2014 Tour de France winner, headlines the nine newcomers along with America's 18-year-old junior road world champion Quinn Simmons.
Like Porte, Campbell Town's Will Clarke returns for the second half of a two-year contract.
