It is one of a number of pedestrian projects the Meander Valley Council has completed recently with about $100,000 allocated to build new footpaths in Dexter Street, King and Queen Street and Marriott Street.
MVC mayor Wayne Johnston said the council aimed to improve amenity and accessibility for the area.
"The new footpath provides a safe place for children to walk or ride their bikes away from traffic. This is particularly important during the busier times of the day in the mornings and afternoons," he said.
"Footpaths create greater pedestrian connectivity and encourage people to walk, instead of always driving to local destinations."
In addition to the footpath, drainage improvements and modifications to the traffic islands at the intersection of Dexter Street and Taylor Street were included in the project.
