Police are seeking information from the public following the discovery of a dead man at Victoria Dock in Hobart early on Thursday morning.

Tasmania Police Acting Inspector Darren Latham said police responded to a report of a man in distress in the water at 4.30am.
"A man jogging past the dock saw a man in distress in the water and attempted to render assistance but unfortunately he disappeared under the waterline," Acting Inspector Darren Latham said.
"Police responded to the scene within minutes but were unable to locate the man in the water.
"Police divers searched the water and sadly located the body of a deceased man at 6.15am."
Acting Inspector Latham said anyone who saw the man in the vicinity of Victoria Dock, between Evans and Argyle Streets, between 1.30am and 4.30am was asked to come forward.
The man is described as early 30s, of Asian appearance, slim build, clean shaven with short dark hair. He was wearing black slacks, a blue long sleeve business shirt, grey linen jacket and brown RM Williams boots.
