Facing the Mountaineers on their home track, the Lions batted first with early wickets seeing them at 2-18 before Cam Lynch, Zac Oldenhof and James Curran steadied somewhat to be 5-81.
Lower-order partnerships from Will Bennett (34), Tom Gray (23) and Daniel Smith (35 off 20) guided the away side to 9-186, with Oldenhof top scoring with 42.
The wicketkeeper saw his team home in his first game of the season, amassing an unbeaten 101 off 122 balls with assistance from Aaron McNab who compiled a run-a-ball 33.
Gray claimed two wickets while Matthew Woods, Patrick Morehouse and Curran all picked up singles.

South Launceston saw themselves home against Wynyard by six wickets in a run-affected Coastal clash.
Blues batsman Brodie Stokes worked for 32 off 49 as him and captain Matthew Kinch were the only two to reach double figures for the home side as they put on 7-88 off their 31 overs.
Wickets were shared as every bowler claimed a wicket, Jeremy Jackson's 2-11 the only multiple.
South looked in trouble early at 3-16 with Doug Ryan, Sean Harris and Brodie Jarrad in the sheds but a 35-run stand between Ishang Shah and Nathan Philip steadied the tide before Shah and Anders Bulow saw the Knights home.
Shah finished with 35 not out with the Danish Bulow collecting 11 as Darcey Brazendale and Jye Gardam claimed two wickets each.
Burnie pushed through Riverside in a rain-affected 39-over clash at Windsor Park.
Starting off strong through Nick Revell (19) and Kye Apted (30 off 33), the Hurricanes looked untroubled before three steady wickets brought Brady Yates to the crease.
The visiting skipper put on 68 for the fourth wicket with James Odgers before being dimissed by Sam Artis for 70.
Artis (3-51), Matt Kerrison (1-11) and Tom Garwood (2-20) collected the tail as the Hurricanes ended up with a respectable 9-184.
The Blues got their chase off to a grand start courtesy of a 63-run opening stand but were unable to deal with Burnie's constant pressure and plans.
Garwood top scored with a rapid-fire 53 off 59 balls and import Kirk Thompson fired with 29 off 27 but losing 8-48 proved too much for the Blues as they crumbled to be all out for 156.
Burnie's Lachlan Roberts picked up 4-11 off his six overs to be the pick of the bowlers.
Westbury's clash with Latrobe was abandoned after seven balls with the Shamrocks sitting at 0-4.
