Ticket holders received an email on Wednesday announcing the cancellation of upcoming shows for the tour.
"We regret to inform you that due to several serious threats received, all remaining Crusty Demons 2019 shows have been put on hold," the email said.
"CEG (Complete Events Group), the promoter of the events have immediately reported threats to police who now have an official investigation in progress."
About 7000 tickets were understood to have been sold to the event, the first in a decade.

A Devonport Showgrounds spokeswoman confirmed she had spoken to a representative of the Crusty Demons and was certain it was not a scam.
She said the showgrounds were being inundated with calls from people upset about the cancelled show and trying to find out more.
She said people from Hobart were concerned about their accommodation bookings as well as ticket refunds.
A spokesperson said the Crusty Demons representative said the show was cancelled because of threats that were made and were being investigated by police, but the threats were not local.
She said the show's organisers said there was the potential to reschedule the show for towards the end of February.
