"I'm really looking forward to working with Adam (Griffith) to try and take my bowling to another level and playing alongside Matthew (Wade), who I played a lot with for Victoria, was too good an opportunity to pass up," he said.
Cricket Tasmania's Simon Insley spoke highly of Boland and his Big Bash move.
"Scott will be a fantastic addition for the Hurricanes this season", he said.
"His career has been strong and we look forward to him beginning the next chapter in the purple."
Named Victorian Sheffield Shield player of the year for the 2018-19 season, Boland's purple debut could coincide with the Hurricanes' season opener to be played in Alice Springs against Sydney Sixers on December 20.
