The donation of books includes two of the Aussie themed titles from the program; The Great Barbie Disaster and How to Talk to a Frill Neck Lizard. The books are authored and illustrated by Australian talent, and suit children aged five to eight years old.
How to Talk to a Frill Neck Lizard author Tania Ingram said she was proud to be a part of the initiative because reading at a young age is important to spark imaginations, expand vocabulary and set young children up for a bright future.
BIG W's initial trial program in February found hundreds of customers in rural communities were limited by distance to a physical store, prompting the retailer to partner with charity Good360, to distribute books to as many schools as possible.
