The first person to find the plane would be given free return flights from either Melbourne or Sydney for them and 149 other people. The guests will fly on a Mofo plane
Tim Strange from Woonoona NSW won the prize in one minute and 40 seconds.
It took a further six days of figuring out the clues.
The winner mentioned on social media he was forming a syndicate, but organisers are yet to confirm if this was to solve the clues or to fill the plane.
At this stage organisers are not sure what he's going to do to fill the plane.
The plane was located at Lake Mikany.
The plan was hidden on Mona Foma's online map of Tassie.
Clues to Air Mofo's location were found within the map, in festival ads and on the Mona Foma website.
The search ended on October 14.
Air Mofo passengers can expect more than your average plane ride, with Mona Foma inspired in-flight entertainment and performances making the trip one to remember.
The prize, which has been dubbed the biggest prize in Tasmanian festival history, was a partnership between MONA and Tourism Tasmania.
Air Mofo will fly from Melbourne or Sydney and is set to land in Launceston on Friday 17 January to kick off the main festival weekend.
Mona Foma will take over Launceston from 11-19 January, 2020.
