A 57-year-old Colebrook man has been charged with drug trafficking after a targeted traffic operation on Friday.

Transport inspectors and police drug detection dog handlers were conducting a targeted operation in the Colebrook area.
A vehicle being driven by the man was intercepted and police dog Bernie immediately detected drugs, Tasmania Police said.
Cannabis and a large amount of cash was allegedly found during the search, police said.

Following further inquiries, a search warrant was obtained for the man's residence. A large quantity of cannabis and seedlings were allegedly found.
The man was charged with trafficking in a controlled drug and cultivating controlled plant for sale. Both were major charges.
He was also charged with possessing controlled plant product.
The man was bailed to appear in the Hobart Magistrates Court at a later date.
