In the lead up to The Big Breakfast on October 18, businesses from across the state's North have lent their support to The Smith Family.
This includes the Tamar Valley Resort, whose Grindelwald Bakery Cafe are helping to cater the breakfast at Civic Square.
After hearing the story of The Smith Family and the work it does across the state's North, general manager Damien Pinkerton said it was a perfect fit for the resort to get on board.
"When we looked more into the work The Smith Family do in the community, we wanted to ensure we could help in any way possible," he said.
"I think it is really important as well, to know that all funds raised will stay within the community.
"We are one of a number of sponsors, but I think it's great to see so many businesses coming together for a good cause."
Research shows disadvantaged students are on average up to three years behind in reading and maths by the time they are 15 years old.
With education attainment recognised as on of the most important predictors for future employment, Mr Pinkerton said ensuring young people were supported was key.
"A good start to adult life starts with a good job, and the key to that is a good education," he said.
"We are a business, and we are always looking to the next generation of potential employees.
"Ensuring our youth are given every opportunity to reach their full potential is a really important message."
The Smith Family's Tasmania general manager Lesley Mackay said the charity was excited for the event, and grateful for the support.
"At The Smith Family, we truly believe supporting a child's education is the best way to help them fit in at school, keep up with their peers, and build aspirations for the future," she said.
"Every dollar raised by those involved will help us reach even more young people with practical support for their education, including school books, uniforms and shoes, and access to out-of-school learning and mentoring programs to support their literacy, numeracy and future aspirations.
"We're looking forward to enjoying next month's festivities, and hope as many people in Launceston can come along, get involved, and show their support for the next generation of young Tasmanians."
