In designs prepared by Philp Lighton the existing restaurant is shown as a new tenancy with a new major restaurant on the building's ground floor.
The new restaurant has a bar with an external servery and deck and an enlarged paved courtyard for outdoor dining between the two restaurants.
The plans submitted for the new fish restaurant in the former Transport Department building in Paterson St shows an L-shaped dining area inside the existing building.
The outside eating deck extends almost to Paterson St.
The site has a 20-space car park.
In other waterfront dining news, Hallam Waterfront Restaurant owner Stewart Hallam said that his new takeaway business, approved by the Launceston City Council several months ago, should be up and running by spring.
The premises, to be built alongside the restaurant, will have a separate access and cooking area making it easy for customers to take food into a redeveloped Royal Park.
In developments approved by the council last Monday:
A wholesale fish preparation plant will be established in a vacant butcher shop in St Leonards Rd.
The business owned by Robert and Felicity Polley would relocate from Mayfield and prepare, cook and package fish, chips and potato cakes for the wholesale market.
Mt Leslie Estates will open 24 lots in Elphinwood Square.
