The Circular Head Giants announced on Thursday they will cease operations in the club's 100th year.
Bishop said the CHFA approached the NWFL to find ways to give Circular Head juniors more opportunities.
"The committee and myself have in earlier September, given the uncertainty of the Circular Head Giants, decided to remain proactive and submitted a proposal to the NWFL board and Mr Richardson.
"We are looking for the CHFA to be allowed to submit some junior teams for the NWFL junior competition in the 2020 season.
"We haven't had a response yet on this proposal, but we have to ensure we maintain a sustainable model for our local competition and the demographics in our community."
