The newly-appointed Deloraine playing coach for next year replacing Brad Powe was the Kangaroos' inaugural winner of the HEC Smith Medallist that first began in 1992.
The last recorded NTFA best-and-fairest winner from Deloraine dates back 53 years.
Dornauf, who was also named captain of the NTFA Premier League team-of-the-year in the centre, won the award with 40 votes.
He was six votes clear of Longford forward Jackson Blair. South Launceston's Luke McCarty on 32 and Bracknell's Callum Mulder on 30 were in the mix during a tight count at the Country Club Tasmania.
Hillwood's Nathan Pearce and Rocherlea's Luke Richards tied for sixth on 26 votes.
Bridgenorth's Christopher Walker was a runaway Premier League reserves medallist.
He polled 39 votes to finish a massive 14 ahead of rival pair Jared Lewis from Longford and Conan Duhig from Bracknell.
The spoils were shared in the under-18s award after Bridgenorth's Jack De Wit and Longford's Nedd Carr tied with 34 votes.
