Cityprom is launching its first Off Street events on Saturday night with jazz and food in Earls Court, located next to the Running Shop on Brisbane Street.
About 500 people are expected to attend the event during the evening which aims to showcase two boutique Launceston bars in Cinco Passiones and Bar Two.
Cityprom executive officer Steve Henty said the events are about focusing on the great pedestrian spaces Launceston has.
"It's about sitting back and enjoying this unique space and the offerings," he said.
"We have laneways and alleyways that rival those around the world."
IN OTHER NEWS:
The idea came from Cityprom approaching its members to ask if they have a space that residents need to know more about.
"They're enthusiastic to not only get people in their area, but to highlight the sort of spaces that make their businesses unique," Mr Henty said.
A second event will be held on October 19 in Yorktown Square.
"Given that space is bigger we will have a lot more food offerings," Mr Henty said.
"It has been partnered with all the world food offerings that are in the area so that has been a really great showcase of the diversity of cuisine we have here in Launceston."
The final event will be held in Brisbane Court behind Pierre's to showcase how the area can be used after hours.
All events are free. The Earl Court event starts at 4pm.
