A man has sustained four stab wounds in Hobart's northern suburbs, before fleeing to a nearby bowls club.

About 1.30pm on Saturday, police learned of a wounding that had taken place in a vehicle with multiple occupants inside in the Berriedale area, where MONA Museum is located.
Police have charged a 40-year-old man, of no fixed address, in relation to the incident.
He was located at the foreshore area at Berriedale about 9am this morning. The man has been detained for court.

"A 55-year-old male received four stab wounds to the upper body and hands and alighted from a white Commodore near the Berriedale foreshore area," a Tasmania Police spokesperson said.
"The injured male and a female relative made their way to the Berriedale Bowls Club where an ambulance was called.
"Glenorchy police are seeking information from anyone who was in the Berriedale foreshore area around this time and may have seen this altercation occur."
