More than 1800 homes were without power in Launceston after an outage on Monday afternoon.

Homes in Punchbowl and Norwood were affected, as well as a small area in St Leonards.
TasNetworks said the cause of the outage was lightning strikes.
"Crews are currently investigating and an estimated restoration time is unknown," it said.
"Severe weather can cause power outages. So don't be left in the dark, put together an easy access kit with a torch, blankets, and more."

The Bureau of Meteorology predicted thunderstorms Monday afternoon and evening.
There is a less than 20 per cent chance of rain on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday.
However, there will be winds of 20 to 30 km/h on Tuesday morning, light winds on Wednesday, and winds of 15 to 20 km/h on Thursday afternoon.
