The Prospect club has named Hardwicke as its new head coach following Lino Sciulli's decision to step down after five years coaching in the state competition.
The majority of Hardwicke's career has been on the Sunshine Coast. He played in multiple premierships before gaining a decade of coaching experience while obtaining his AFC B and C-grade licences.

He successfully transitioned Kawana Football Club from mid-table to title contender, winning the league in 2012, then coached in Brisbane before joining the Sunshine Coast Fire in the Queensland NPL.
City president Danny Linger said Hardwicke has developed a sound football philosophy that has been successfully applied at all his clubs.
"We welcome Roger into our football family," he said.
"We are confident Roger and his family will not only feel welcome at Launceston City but embrace our beautiful state and relaxed lifestyle for years to come.
"Whilst it is fair to say we have some work to do to lift Launceston City further up the NPL ladder, Roger stated he is excited and looking forward to the challenge."
Meanwhile, Charlie Dyer polled 14 votes in the last 10 matches to win the club's Peter Savill Medal as NPL Tasmania best and fairest. Noah Mies claimed the golden boot with 16 goals.
