Two rows of five panels are proposed to be installed on the roof of the modern brick toilet building to the south of the heritage-listed former school house.
Museum committee members and volunteers met with MHRs Guy Barnett, Mark Shelton and John Tucker earlier this month to thank them for funding that had already seen new heating installed and a kitchen power upgrade.

"After the recent de-consecration of St Thomas' Anglican Church and the imminent closure of the Avoca Primary School it is timely for the town to have some good news, and is appreciated by the volunteers," Northern Midlands Council mayor Mary Knowles said.
A development application for the panels was lodged with the council this month and will remain open for public comment until September 27.
