Rotary Club of Kings Meadows' Cathy Hughes and Di Schwagermann said Rotary Employment Day connected Tasmanian employers with senior school students and young jobseekers in the region who hope to gain employment by the start of 2020.
"Employers who recruit young people fairly regularly will come to the Launceston Conference Centre, set up a table, and interview young Tasmanians for current or potential future job vacancies," Dr Hughes said.
"They come on the day and have real job interviews with real employers for current or potential jobs."
Dr Hughes said the event was in its third year, and had this year moved into a bigger venue at the Launceston Conference Centre.
"It's very hard to follow up and see how many people get jobs out of it, so it's an estimate, but we think that about 20 per cent that do," she said.
"Of course, others might be taken to the next stage of the recruitment process, some of them may be put on the register of training companies and labour hire."

Students or young jobseekers aiming to get involved can visit Eventbrite online to view available interview slots. They are then asked to upload their resume.
About 28 employers and businesses are expected to hold interviews at the event, but there was room for more.
"Ideally we'd like to have as many as 40, because the auditorium is so large we do have that space available," Ms Schwagermann said.

Ms Schwagermann said it was free for employers to access the opportunity and would save them in recruitment costs.
Youth employment organisations were also invited to attend and host a table for a $200 fee.
"We've got more space for people who would like to set up a booth," Dr Hughes said.
"Ideally other training organisations, or youth related organisations. If they would like to get involved we're encouraging them to participate on the day as well," Ms Schwagermann said.
