The event features a number of skill-testing competitions for both man and machine, foremost of which is the ever-popular Dyno shootout.
The Dyno shootout invites bikers to test the horsepower of the their rides in various competition categories. According to events manager Lindelle Banks, 'the Surge' initially started as just the Dyno shootout, expanding to a larger event over the past few years.
"Power Surge stemmed from that [Dyno shootout] because you're testing the horsepower of the bikes - we wanted to combine more powerful things for the day," Ms Banks said.
"We've got burnout demonstrations, as well as the Dyno shootout, and different sorts of power demonstrations."
Other tests of strength on the day include an arm wrestling machine and hammer strength contest, as well as an eating competition.
"Power Surge always gets lots of people up here and is a very busy event that's greatly supported by the community," Ms Banks said.
"It's something a little different, mainly when you go out with your bikes it's for show and shines ... this brings them up and tests their horsepower on the Dyno machine which you can't really do anywhere else."
The free event annually aims to raise $50,000 for Give Me Five For Kids.
