NRMA St Helens Waterfront Holiday Park co-owner Jason Sherriff said their intention was always to create some designated accommodation for mountain bike riders.
"The accomodation we currently have will appeal to a fairly big percentage of the mountain biking fraternity, but we're just missing that budget-type accommodation which is what we're aiming to fill; that void that we're not catering for," he said.
He said the upgrades would also include lock-up storage for mountain bikes with individual alarms and full remote access.
"So that the riders have peace of mind that their valuable equipment is safely stored," he said.
"They'll be able to come back from their ride, wash down, and lock their bikes away safely with the touch of a button, then go and relax and enjoy a nice meal and a beer.
"We really hope that it ticks all the boxes for all the various needs."

He said they had also been negotiating with a few different mountain bike manufacturers to supply bikes to the holiday park.
"Because we're so family focused, we want to make sure that if mum and dad and the kids come that they've all got an option - not only for the trails, but for the bike network that already exists," he said.
"You'll be able to do a full hire package. We're pretty excited to be able to do that.
"It'll be that one stop shop."
Mr Sherriff said assuming the development application is approved by the Break O'Day Council, construction would begin as soon as possible.
He said they aimed to have the new additions up and running by the end of the year, with the lock-up storage to be constructed in time for the opening date of the trails.
The trails will officially open on November 22, with the Mountains to the Sea Trail-Fest taking place on November 23.
