Edging out teammates Tom Bennett, Mark Walsh and Jye Balym for the prestigious award with his consistent ball use, Withers was over the moon in finally achieving a senior premiership at the club.
"It's ridiculous, the amount of effort that goes in from the community and everyone from volunteers to coaches, it was bigger than the 22 that were out on the field," he said.
"That third quarter set us up. We just knew that if we had that breeze coming home, we'd come home with it and go through them."
A Hillwood clubman for four years and one of the seven Sharks representatives selected in the NTFA representative squad earlier in the season, the win certainly meant a lot.
"It's going to be a good three days."
