A serious sex offender who used an alias on a dating site to meet women and failed to report an email address to the registry has been jailed.

East Launceston man Arthur Fairwell, 52, pleaded guilty to three counts of fail to comply with reporting obligations.
During sentencing in the Launceston Magistrates Court on Thursday, Magistrate Sharon Cure said Fairwell had absolutely no insight or remorse for his offending.
Fairwell was placed on the sex offender registry for 15 years in 2006 after he was sentenced to eight years' jail in NSW for serious sex offences, the court heard.

Sentencing documents revealed he attempted to have sex with a 13-year-old girl after drugging her mother.
He ended up spending a total of 11-and-a-half years in jail before moving to Tasmania about two-and-a-half years ago.
His violent past also included an incident where he used chloroform to aid him in committing a sexual offence.
While living in Launceston, Fairwell used the alias Ashley Kenmore to speak to two women on dating sites Plenty of Fish and Tinder.
One woman met up with Fairwell and gave him a tour around Launceston. The woman later picked out Fairwell in a photo-board identification with police.
The second woman and Fairwell planned to meet at Cataract Gorge but it didn't go ahead.
Fairwell's use of the alias was a breach of his sex offender registry reporting conditions.
The court heard he also used email address tasmaniaisheaven@gmail.com, which resulted in the third charge.
He failed to report the information required and he did so deliberately.

Ms Cure said Fairwell's failure to disclose the alias and email was at the serious end of this type of offending.
Throughout the sentencing, Fairwell said he'd been harassed by a police officer over the past three months.
"I'm not going to do anything ever again," he said while Ms Cure was trying to speak.
Ms Cure said Fairwell would talk about the unfairness of the situation until the cows came home.
Prosecutor Felicity Radin told the court email addresses played a significant role in Fairwell's prior offending.
The court heard Fairwell tried to justify his behaviour, saying he needed to meet his sexual desires and wanted to find a wife.
Ms Cure said she was concerned by his lack of insight of the requirements of the register, noting his offending might seem like just a failure to give information but he was being deceitful.
"He failed to report the information required and he did so deliberately," she said.
Fairwell was sentenced to 12 months' jail backdated to September 9 and would be eligible for in six months.
