Jack Mark Pearce, who fled from police custody at the Royal Hobart Hospital on August 31, will appear in court on Thursday afternoon.
Police said he will also appear on the breach of bail charge he was arrested for on August 31.
Tasmania Police Detective Inspector Troy Morrisby thanked the community for information provided throughout the last 12 days while police had been searching for Mr Pearce.
"I would also like to reassure the community that at no time were they at risk due to his escape," Detective Inspector Morrisby said.
"We conducted a series of searches based as part of a co-ordinated investigation and knew he would be located in a matter of time."
Police said the man was arrested at 11am by members of Tasmania Police's Southern Drug Investigation Services, Glenorchy CIB and Hobart CIB and was taken into custody without further incident.
A woman at the address is also assisting police with inquiries relating to harbouring a person unlawfully at large.
