SES volunteers secured the roof and removed the debris from the road, along with responding to other requests for window and tree damage.
SES regional officer Mark Dance said he encouraged all members of the community to be aware of weather forecasts and prepare when severe weather was predicted.
"Forecast damaging winds were realised in several areas of the south overnight, with SES crews kept busy with requests for assistance," Mr Dance said.
"The State Emergency Service continues to have volunteer crews on standby to assist the community."
Requests responded to by the SES included:
- South Hobart - roof damage to Goulburn Street Primary School.
- Kingston - roller door of house blown in hitting car.
- South Hobart - trampoline on house roof.
- Geilston Bay - windows of house blown in.
- Hobart - roof damage to three houses.
- Howden - tree on house
The SES advises people to prepare for severe weather by clearing drains and gutters of debris, securing outdoor items like furniture and play equipment, beware of fallen trees and power lines, monitor conditions and move stock and equipment from low lying paddocks as required and check on family and neighbours.
