IN OTHER NEWS:
Founder and brewer Will Tatchell said his persistence and planning had paid off.
"From a humble plan to grow, source and brew an entirely on-farm derived beer four years years ago, the reward this honour delivers is immeasurable," he said.
"We're proud that from our farm brewery in Northern Tasmania we're able to stand and deliver beers of this quality, and incorporate our own farm-grown ingredients into them."
Van Dieman also received silver medals for Edward Estate Ale and Medlar and bronze for Oscar Estate IPA and Duchess New World Barrel IPA.
Mr Tatchell said the wins were even more exciting when considered among the quality of competing beers, with 1017 entries from across Australia from a total of 147 breweries.
