Blooming Tasmania will brighten up the Headspace Launceston courtyard, which according to festival director Michael Preece, is in need of some love.

"At the moment it's unloved so what we want to do is give it some love, green it up, give it some life and the great thing is it's an outside area," he said.

"It's giving them [Headspace Launceston] another opportunity to engage with the vulnerable youth they deal with in the community and giving them another way of de-escalating, relaxing and really engaging with improving mental health."

Headspace Launceston is operated by Cornerstone and chief executive David O'sign said the collaboration with Blooming Tasmania for a green space would help both clients and workers attain peace of mind.

"It's give us a bit of flexibility in how we work with young people," he said.

"We actually think there's an opportunity to build on that space ... we'd certainly throw our support behind other green spaces through the community. We'll be in a position a few months down the track to show the benefits of it."
