East Coast's Furneaux Restaurant cooked up its own success this year, winning Best Restaurant - Regional at the 2019 Australian Hotels Association National Awards on Monday night.

The St Helens restaurant took out Best Specialty Restaurant and Restaurant of the Year in the regional category at the August Tasmanian Hospitality Association and Drysdale Awards for Excellence, which put it in the running for the national award.

THA chief executive Steve Old congratulated Furneaux Restaurant on its success in its first year of nomination.
"This was a great achievement and it's another reminder for Tasmanians to get out and enjoy the wonderful hospitality offerings we have in our great state," Mr Old said.
The Shoreline Hotel, Howrah, won Regional Overall Hotel of the Year and Best Bistro-Metropolitan, Maylands Lodge, New Town, won Best Superior Accommodation and THA president Paul Jubb was inducted into the National Hall of Fame.
AHA national president Scott Leach paid tribute to Mr Jubb, saying he "always put the needs of others before his own, whether that be his customers, his family or his fellow publicans".
