But State League premiers Cavaliers and runners-up Northern Hawks have almost been equally snubbed during the Netball Tasmania open awards on Saturday night.
Just three players from the crosstown rivals were named in the team of the year.
Hawks goal ace Ash Mawer and attacker Zoe Claridge joined Cavaliers midcourter Shelby Miller in this season's 10-player all-star squad.
Claridge and Miller had ironically missed half the campaign due to Tasmanian Magpies ANL commitments while teammates propelled their sides towards the top of the statewide competition.
Miller capped off a stellar year, taking out the Magpies coaches award.
AYC-Friends Arrows dominated the team, having four representatives selected.
Hayley Sansom - one of the four Arrows - was named the league best and fairest.
Rebecca Hyland of Kingston was the runners-up.
Mawer, who for the third straight season scored more than 1000 goals, had been identified as the coaches' most wanted player.

Hawks pair Ruth Tuohy and Kellie Woolnough were recognised as coach of the year, pipping out Cavaliers premiership coach Dan Roden in his first year in the job.
Both Northern clubs had featured more strongly in the 19-and-unders awards.
Hawks star Hannah Lenthall took out the double, winning both the best and fairest and the coaches most wanted awards.
Lenthall was one three Hawks in the team of the year along with Taylah Griffin and Gabbi Groves.
Cavaliers, who won the 19-and-unders premiership, were rewarded with Courtney Treloar, Piper Sanders and Hayley Older all named.
Dannie Carstens in charge of Cavaliers was announced the 19-and-unders coach.
Rachael Stebbings from the NTNA was awarded the umpire of the year.
Long-serving Hawks mentor Ann Pearce was honoured with the volunteer of the year award from work with the NTNA and in George Town.
St Helens also took out two of the three state association awards for participation and member service.
