The 24-year-old is also a father, Mowbray's reigning best and fairest, and a Greater Northern Raiders representative.
We caught up with the left-handed all-rounder to pick his brains on all things footy, cricket and fatherhood.
What are your memories of sport growing up?
Junior flags out at Lilydale - we had a really good run where we won 52 games straight in under-16s, so that's definitely the highlight.
Were you always a sporty kid?
I played soccer when I was nine, 10 and 11 and then moved out to Lilydale and played footy from there.
Who's the best player you've played with?
In cricket I've played with Punter so I'll probably run with that.
In footy probably Thane Bardenhagen from Lilydale or Aaron Viney when we were up at Rocherlea, he was pretty good back then.
But yeah probably Thane to be honest, he's a freak.
Who's the best player you've played against?
Probably Sonny [Whiting] to be honest, it was a pain in the a*** to try and work that out.
But in all honesty probably Stolts [Will Stoltenberg] - he is a handful and a really, really good player.
In cricket Sean Pietersz from South, he was that much taller than you and bowled late 130s, and as a 15-year-old it wasn't enjoyable.
Worst teammate to share changerooms with?
Tom Chugg by a stretch. Lazy human being and doesn't care about a whole lot.
Who's your closest mate at Evandale?
Jacko Davey.
AFL team?
Essendon. Next.
What's it like being a dad?
Good fun. A lot of enjoyment and you're given a whole new perspective on things.
TIME TO DECIDE: AFL need to believe, says Brad Green
Funniest thing you've seen on the footy field?
One of them would be last month when Aka [Anthony Axton] basically convinced everyone he'd pulled his string and was cramping - after about 30 seconds he got up and p*** bolted and it was just to waste time.
But you can't really go past flush falcons, and Aka's out here [at Invermay Park] round one was probably the best I've ever seen, it smashed him fair in the face and he was very embarrassed.
Best sledge you've heard?
This needs to be one for the paper doesn't it?
Probably something along the lines of you're the worst coach in Australia - Stolts called me that last year, that's not a bad one.
Favourite cafe/ place to eat in Launceston?
My favourite place to eat is Jailhouse [Grill], but coffee is Cafe Mondello by a long way.
Cricket or footy?
I'll go with cricket as an outgoing football coach.
If you had to choose someone to play you in a movie who would it be?
Jim Levenstein from American Pie - a few people say I look like him.
