Finishing the season on top of the ladder in men's competition, Burnie Baptist looked to have one hand on the trophy, defeating Saturday's opponents South Launceston twice in the home-and-away season.

But their 2018 conquerors proved they weren't out of the premiership window, dealing a crushing 5-1 blow to Baptist two weeks ago and forcing the Coastal side to work the hard way for their grand final berth.
Burnie Baptist followed the script, emerging from a tight contest against Queechy Penguins to book their grand final rematch and Khan Riley's men will be out to restrict the Suns' drive that saw them behind the eight ball early in last year's installment.
The Brad Buchanan and Al McBain-led Suns outfit slammed the foot to the floor in last year's grand final, shocking the 2017 premiers with three early goals to claim South Launceston's fourth premiership in five seasons, a statistic that could certainly be added to on Saturday.
A similarly-fitting storyline continues to play itself out in the GNLW as West Devonport gun for a fifth consecutive premiership when they come up against Coastal rivals City Marians.
Marians controlled play between the two throughout the regular home and away season, dealing blows of 4-1 and 3-0 to their opponents to dull the pain of last year's thrilling grand final loss, but once again, West proved they couldn't be counted out by snatching their semi-final clash away.
As Angela McAuliffe proved to be the difference between the two sides in their recent clash, the renowned scorer has enjoyed another strong season, backing up her 12-goal 2018 showing with 14 majors this year - the most in the competition.
Having only lost one match throughout the home-and-away season (against Queechy in round four), Marians' defence has been air-tight - only letting through seven majors while scoring 48, the second-highest output in the competition behind their grand final opponents with 50.
Making their way into the grand final with a 2-1 win over South Launceston, Marians will be relying on their trademark speed and ball movement to combat their opponents' scoring abilities.
