Launceston product Walker, a Commonwealth Games gold medalist and a championship winner with the Perth Wildcats, has been signed by the Kings after spending the 2018-19 season as the Cairns Taipans' vice-captain.
His first outing for his new side could be in his home state, with the Kings scheduled to play new team South East Melbourne Phoenix at the Devonport Recreation Centre on Friday, September 20, as part of the pre-season NBL Blitz which will be held in Tasmania.
"We're excited to finalise our roster and we think Waxy (Walker) will be a terrific addition to the group" Sydney Kings chief executive Chris Pongrass said on Monday about a man known as being a "team-first player".
"Myself, Will (coach Will Weaver) and the Kings' ownership group spent a lot of time working through this season's roster and we think we've found a great combination of player's that compliment each other.
"As well as some incredible talent, the character of our players was a focal point for us and from what we've seen of Waxy within the roles he's played previously, we know he fits within those expectation."
The Silverdome will host NBL Blitz matches between the Cairns Taipans and NBL1 All Stars and Adelaide 36ers and Brisbane Bullets on Saturday, September 21.
