Launceston City, Tamar Churinga and Tasmanian representative Beau Cornelius has flown to England to enhance his hockey dream and connect with English relatives.
The 18-year-old said it was a tough decision to make but one that was always on his mind.
"I decided to go back to England when I graduated from high school and have always had the desire after the last trip to the UK that I had back in Grade 8," he said.

"The big thing for me was the family. I don't get to see my grandparents, cousins, uncles and aunties etc as much as most kids do growing up.
"My granddad has never seen me play hockey even though he is probably one of my biggest supporters."
Although a much larger move, this isn't the first change of the season for the former Larminier Primary and St Patrick's College student, with Cornelius having switched allegiances from Tamar Churinga to Launceston City following the former's Greater Northern League withdrawal.
Being knocked out of the finals series last week, Cornelius was a major part of City's rise from a ninth-placed finish to a ground-breaking finals berth, one he says was a positive move.
"I didn't know what to expect coming into the season but as it progressed, it started to look very promising.
"I think the main thing that helped me was having played with a couple of City players in intrastate tournaments and then also having four of the Tamar Churinga players come across as well."
Set to play two full seasons in the UK before a potential Tasmanian return, Cornelius will pull on the boots for Chichester Hockey Club, less than two hours out of London, a club with bucket-loads of family significance.
Liz and Damon Cornelius, Beau's parents and valued members of Northern hockey, played for Chichester's sides with Beau having watched them run around in chilly conditions at a young age.
Hoping to play first grade for his newly-adopted side, the 2018 Tim Deavin Medalist will feature within the third-tier National Hockey League's Eastern conference.
Each side within the 10-team competition plays each other twice with a promotion and relegation system in play.
