Cityprom chief executive Steve Henty said the event was part of the Winterlicious campaign.
"Launceston likes to get out and that's what events like this are about ... this is what winter's like in Tasmania and we've got to get out, enjoy it and embrace it," he said.
"This has been driven by the businesses in the area ... and that makes it really great for Cityprom to have really passionate people getting people out and about to help change that long term approach we have to winter in Tasmania."
