Just Cats requested $10,000 each from four councils, including Northern Midlands, which agreed to provide $2000 in its 2019-20 budget.
The organisation rescued 40 cats in the Northern Midlands area during the financial year, with costs of $60 per cat.
The Tour of Tasmania also requested $3000 in funding to cover transport costs.
IN OTHER NEWS:
The council deferred their decision until event organisers had submitted a funding application form.
The decisions were made at last week's ordinary meeting of council, where Northern Midlands also considered an updated food trucks and mobile food vendors policy.
An amendment restricting food trucks from operating before 3pm was put forward, and the matter will go to a council workshop.
